Your dog may still have fleas. Program is a good product, but it only stops fleas from reproducing after they have bitten the dog. There are other products that you can buy that will kill the fleas on your dog. You should ask your veterinarian what she thinks about those products.

Also, just because your dog is in the house does not mean she doesn't have fleas. Fleas can find their way into the house. Your vet will probably be able to tell you if your dog has fleas or not and then tell you what to do to get rid of them. Good luck!

Have the vet check out your dog to make sure he doesn't have a health problem. Your goal is now to get the little one comfortable in your car. So make it a game.

Step one is to practice getting in and out of the car, while it is parked. Coax your dog into the car and give him his favorite treat. Then let him out and praise him. Do this several times and over many days.

Only after he is doing that with no problem, should you take him for a ride. The first ride should be short, just around the block. Give him treats while you are riding. Do this until he seems ok.

Then gradually increase the car rides. When you do start going for rides, go to fun places. Don't always go to the vet, or he won't like it. Go to places where he will associate fun with the car ride.

  3. My dog has had an excessive amount of flatulence (gas). Is that from human food or something else?
First, check with your veterinarian to make sure your dog is healthy. If dogs have an excessive amount of gas, very often it can be remedied by changing the brand of food he eats. Choose a good quality name-brand and see what happens. People food can also give dogs digestive problems.

  4. I have a four week old puppy. He sleeps a lot. Is it natural or it is ill? Well when I take him for a walk he is quite active, but walks behind me wherever I go. What is your suggestion?
A four week old puppy should sleep most of the day. A few times he will wake up, pee, eat, play a little, and go back to sleep. It is natural and normal. However, it is very important that a young pup get a complete checkup at the vet and start his vaccinations so that he doesn't become ill.

As for the walks, remember that he is very little and very young. He can't walk as fast as you. You might put a few pieces of dry dog food (kibble) in your pocket and reward him with pieces when he keeps up with you. But don't walk too fast and don't take him for a long walk. He shouldn't be around other dogs until he has all of his shots. Congratulations on your new pup!
