Outrage!
I am outraged at the recent event that resulted in the resignation of VP/Membership George Kunak. George and his wife Jane have given selflessly and tirelessly of their time and money to support CJRRC. In return, George was accused by a member of theft: of a STAMP!!! George, in his hast to do registration for the Fall Classic as well as membership renewals, not to mention his full-time job, put in his hours of studying for a new career and taking care of his family and home, mislaid the SASE sent by this member and sent another. He was accused of unspeakable crimes. I don't blame George for resigning. Bill Schaefer and I have experienced similar incidents in the decades of work we put into CJRRC. Without volunteers, this club couldn't exist. We appreciate the 30 or so members who support the club by coming to most meetings, run on the club teams, support our events, etc., and most especially the dozen or so who do all the work for the club. The rest of you: how about thinking before you open your mouth to utter one WORD of advice or criticism. Think: What have I done to help this club recently. In all my years with the club, the member who made this insane accusation hasn't done a thing. Even when begged to do something as simple as join USATF-NJ so he could run on our team, he had some lame excuse for not doing so. This is an outrage and I hope all of you will show some support and thanks to George and Jane for all their hard work and demonstrate to them that we're not all like this crazy person! Vera C. Stek |
