Message:   Hi Carla, Although you don’t actually need an Admiralty attorney to file a claim or even to recover an artifact outside of State waters, Federal Marshall's are usually involved in the "arrest" of the artifact and if it’s your first time filing it might be prudent to have one walk through it with you.

Claims previously filed can be publicly accessed on the internet (Lexus Nexus) it would help to know their filing heading, i.e., Joe Neptune vs. Unidentified Vessel or their case numbers for faster access.

As far as the Army Corps., EPA, NOAA, etc. are concerned, unless you’re in State waters they shouldn’t be an issue. Let me know if you need the names of any A. attorneys, I might know a few.
