You're right; it could just be one of the weirdest claims to come down the pike in a few years. I wonder which U.S. government agency they're teaming up with this time to try and pull this one off- just kidding. (No I'm not !)
I'm sure though, that it will probable end up in some court and dismissed as a "Nuisance" lawsuit.
The one good thing that has come from it however is that it has just raised the estimated value of the remains of the Atocha up to 3 Billion Dollars.
And people used to say that Mel inflated the value. Not only did Mel guess correctly at the time, but his estimate by today’s standards would be considered conservative. No wonder people have called him a visionary.
