In these days of overboard (pun) political correctness I have been amazed that the US Courts have supported Spain in claiming their galleons AND the precious metals aboard since they are the product of genocide, racism, and decimation of entire cultures.
It appears that the true victims of the crimes of Spain now have a voice. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. Do we have a moral obligation to any litigants representing the Aztec, Incans, and Mayans? I'd rather see them get a negotiated % than Spain getting it all. Comments? |
