Thanks Peter, as you probably know there are a lot of un-sung heroes who were instrumental in getting this cannon from the ocean bottom to its present home:
Duncan Mathewson- project archaeologist
J.J. Kennedy- Denis' trusted friend and advisor
Lawrence Campbell- Built the carriage
Mel Fisher's Treasures- Kim Fisher for making accommodations in his lab
Mel Fisher's Lab- Morgan Perkins; John Corcoran; Tim Molinar; Gary Randolph
FKNMS- Commander Dave Score; Commander Steve Beckwith; Brenda Altmiere; John Halas
And many others who volunteered their time to help Denis fulfill his dream. It was a wonderful example of people from as many different walks of life as well as ideologies who put all differences aside for the overall benefit of the community. It’s the way Denis would have wanted it. |
