rain comes in
My log home is about 12 yrs old. I live in FL. During the heavy storms the water comes in and soaks the logs inside. The house is well caulked and sealed. Even when it was pressure washed the water came thru the walls. Someone said there are bolts around the house that have to be tightened. All these companies say use this or that but nothing has worked. I am tired of spending so much money and nothing solves the problem. Any help is appreciated. Mary Ann |

Be sure that all cracks and crevices are sealed with ***** or caulk and that the materials are holding up without splitting and cracking. Check between each log, along the roofline, around all corners, look at the cracks running into the windows and corners. Also, check your log ends for the heart of the log. If the logs are non heart and a check occurs it will go through the entire log and into the interior thus if water gets into that crack it will go inside. The heart stops the cracks from doing that. www.woodstocklog.com for more info. We are working in Florida this time of year and our corporate office is in Gainesville. Contact me if you would like an inspection. There is a fee but it could be well worth the money for a 2nd opinion. The fee is $500. |
