Homeowner's Insurance - Owner/Builder
I've found that homeowner's is available for Log Homes. However I haven't found any that is available for an Owner/Builder of a Log Home. Example: Allstate offers homeowner's for Log Homes; ONLY if it was built by a licensed contractor. I'm looking for contact details for aqny Insurance companies you folks know of who will insure a Owner/Builder Log Home in North Carolina. |

We are owner builders and are currently using allstate for our log home. We are in North Carolina as well. We previously had Allstate with the home we sold as well as all of our autos are insured by them. The rep I dealt with is in Pittsboro, NC and his name is Randy Holt. He's a great guy to work with - maybe give him a call and let him know he has a customer already insured by them. Good luck! Janet K |

We are shopping around for insurance and hoping to get opinions from everybody on which ones to avoid and which ones you have had a good experience with. Let me start having affordable and reliable insurance at www.insurance-quote-free.com they offer online quote, which you can have for free. |

Looks like State Farm is the direction I'm heading. Allstate won't touch it because I am the GC even though I had a builder do some of the construction. Of course after I have SF cover it Allstate would then insure it because it would be a "used" log home so there wouldn't be a question about who built it. (AllState = Morons :-)). |
