I am seriously considering building one of this manufacturer's homes. can anyone tell me of their experiences with this company and / or shed any light on their apparent switch to "In The Woods" |

Hi We are in the process of finishing our log home kit that we bought from Amerilink. We have mixed feelings about this company. I can say though - your log kit is only as good as your builder too. We had a good experience with sales people as well as customer service. Initially we had a horrible cust. service rep who didn't get us the information we needed - didn't return calls, etc. As far as I know though - he is no longer with the company. I think Amerilink is one of the best priced company and they do provide you with alot of what you need. We build a custom home and were shorted some supplies. We had to buy some things out of our pocket and submitted the bills to them. It took some time, but eventually they gave us half of what we submitted back. I would have preferred the reimbursed us fully, but at least they made some amends with us. You just really have to keep on top of them. We have alot of checking in our logs also. Their logs are kiln dried vs. air dried. We don't mind the checking too much, but something to think about. As far as In the Woods - the model is beautiful - it's more handcrafted style - with the bigger logs. From what we were told - they are going to widen their market - from standard kit logs to these custom large timber homes. The large timber homes are much more expensive as well.
