1. The supporters of this plan make some very large assumptions that the lack of tax on the corporate end will trickle down, I just do not see it. The rich just naturally want to be richer…..
2. The rich will get richer, we assume just because the rich make more money they will continue to spend more money and pay this high sales tax.
As I see it, take an income of $500,000 through investments and salary, first year of Flat Tax and there is already an increase in this amount, no tax on investments. Just maybe this individual spends a little more but really has all the toys he or she wants. The smart elite rich see the opportunity to invest more to make more because they already have the means to do it, more in the bank now easily creates more wealth. It is hard for the average American to think like an investor. As a larger pile of wealth is created it is easily passed on to heirs. The gap between rich and poor gets larger quicker, and the middle class will continue to shrink. Those that really want to get rich will now have the environment to do it. This is not meant to be class envy, but we are trying to create Pure Capitalism , which means survival of the fittest and ruthless.
3. Fix current loopholes, it can not be done with current Congress, to many of the benefactors of these loopholes are deep into legislators pockets.
4. Anyone visiting the U.S. will pay 23% more to come here, this cannot help tourism , and please do not give me the trickle down excuse again……
5. Rent for $600 a month, now pay $738 a month. I own a rental property, I am trying to figure out how my cost will decrease so I can pass some savings on to my renter, I can not find it , my low income renter will pay 100% of this new cost, no trickle down……. But I love this quote
“”””Jesus said that the poor will always be with us and that we should help the poor. Over the past 80 or so years, the responsibility for "helping the poor" has largely transferred from us as individuals and our local charitable organizations to the federal and state governments. I believe this approach is flawed and has resulted in an entire population of people (to the 3rd and 4th generation) who now believe that the government should provide for them. Personal responsibility has been lost to many of these people. IMHO, this is not good for these people or our society in general. Clearly there are people who are deserving of help and I try to support them where I can and support local charitable organizations who also help needful people. However, in general, we should create an environment that helps people to take responsibility for their own lives and equips them to succeed, thereby providing for their own (and their family's) welfare.””” From Terry
6. Do not kid yourself , government always wants more , they are incapable of doing with less.
7. As a proud member of the middle class, the last thing I worry about is paying taxes on my savings, the bank has owned me for several years, I am crawling out from under this debt. Take away payroll taxes and most will spend it all, let us once again be honest here.
8. We can agree Internet tax stinks.
9. It may seem easier but only time could tell……
I see a plan that will increase class warfare. The incredible shrinking middle class…….
We need tax reform.
I have grown to like some of the Fair tax plan but feel the need to keep Corporate, capital gains and Estate taxes, of course at a lower percentage. |
