Time Warner Cable-"disconnected"
Monday I cancelled my cable TV with Time Warner Cable. It's too bad, because I had been a satisfied customer with Adelphia for 3 years. In summary-my cable went out on May 11th, and as of May 21st- it was still out. I have ended up speaking to numerous customer service reps, had 4 appointments where nobody showed up, or I was told by the customer service rep I didn't need to be home, and then arrive home to find a message that they did need me to be home. Some reps from Time Warner told me that I was "tagged wrong for an audit" and that within 3 hours somebody would be here to rectify the problem. I've taken time off of my personal fitness training (work)to be here for my appointments when nobody showed up, I've spent a couple hours on the telephone with several customer service reps including Yolonda, Kimberly, Ben, Theresa, Carla, and Reynesha. Although, when I would call back and ask to speak to the rep who I previously spoke with, nobody ever knew who anybody else was and that there was "no way to get in touch with that person". What's the use of giving out names as credibility if you can never get the person back on the phone to help you because they really kind of don't exist? This whole time, I've never once had a manager or supervisor from Time Warner contact me to learn more about my situation or offer support. In fact, once I requested to speak to a manager but was refused because they were in a "different building". Doesn't Time Warner have the ability to transfer calls? I sent this same exact email to the management of Time Warner and they sent me back a cookie cutter email that said I should contact customer service to get my problem resolved. Yikes-I don't think I want to go through all that again. I guess if I had cable right now I'd probably be watching TV instead of posting this and being pro-active in the community. Maybe I'll read an inspirational book now, can't be all that bad without cable TV right?

I had a similar problem with Time Warner Cable...a real nightmare. Then I filed a complaint with the BBB, and amazing I heard from "the bosses". I was given a direct number to a real person who I could deal with. There were still a couple of those no-show appointments, which shocked the person I was dealing with. I told her "welcome to my world". The problem did get resolved. I'm not thrilled with Time Warner, but I went through so much to get it, I feel I should stick with it a while longer. Besides, is there a better game in town? |

Hello, Jack! Well, I have to say you are entirely right about them. I had a HUGE problem with them, when switching from Adelphia. They weren't even billing me! All the bills were in my (deceased) Husbands name, but the way he had the account set up, I could not make the name change to my name. I was receiving cable, but kept complaining I had no bill. Yes, I paid-and could-but his bill went to his old email address (no snail mail), which I had cancelled. Still no bill. Strange, huh? It took them over a year to fix it, and when they did, they wanted to charge reconnection service, rather than a name change. I fought that too, and won. Now, they were changing stations and terms of service. I was paying more now, for less. One thing is certain, Jack, it is time to get back into the community. Let's make the community fun. Wanna get the NOHO Arts Festival up for next year? I guarantee we won't have time to gripe about cable, let alone use it, anyway.
