Magnolia Blvd.

Does anyone know why the city only bothered to repave only one section of Magnolia Blvd.? (Between Riverton and Cahuenga)In my opinion the worst section is Between Vineland and Riverton.

Re: Magnolia Blvd.

They want to widen Magnolia in NoHo. Not sure that would be good for the shops or theatres.

Re: Magnolia Blvd.

If what you say is true about widening Magnolia blvd, then why did they already cut into part of the sidewalk closest to the meters on the south side of Magnolia between Lankershim and vineland to start putting up beautiful trees, only to turn around and in order to widen that very street on Magnolia blvd. they would have to take those very trees that are about to be planted, out again to what?"Widen Magnolia blvd"? It does not make logical sense,ya think?

Re: Magnolia Blvd.

Susan - you can NEVER expect the city to make sense. The departments don't talk to each other. I know that one part of Burbank Blvd. was repaved and a few weeks later the DWP dug it up again to put in pipes and then repaved. Makes no sense.

We need to ramp up leadership in our community so we can be aware of these things and appropriately respond like other communities (i.e. Studio City, Northrdige, etc.) do. But I don't know. Is NoHo too transient - that is do people put down roots long enough - for us to have leaders? Something to ponder.

Re: Magnolia Blvd.

I saw this commercial on TV that took place in San Diego and this couple was in front of a building. The sidewalk in front had to be twenty feet wide.

Here in LA we just keep widening the street until there is no sidewalk left. Ever looked at the sidewalk in front of Sittons? You can barely walk on that. You can even see that they had to cut a slot in the canopy to accomodate moving the street light back. What's up with that?

If you widen Magnolia even more you're going to have postage stamp sized sidewalks - how is that safe let alone good for business?
