North Hollywood Meetings
Hello One and All. I just got back from the Neigbohood Council meeting where it was anounced that the committees (open membership to anyone who lives, works, owns property in NoHo) will be reforming next month. They include land use and urban planning, communication, street beuatification and the arts (of course!). See you on June 13 at 11414 Tiara St. at 6:30pm. The next day at the Bevery Garland Hotel on Vineland there will be an All-North Hollywood (not just the Arts District) city and chamber of commerce public outreach wing-ding that will have a booth for the neighborhood council committes. No, the committees won't change the world in a day, but we have to start SOMEWHERE and, hey, it can fun... there's always free goodies of some kind available. I still write and host the old Arts and Humanities web site. I don't get paid and it's worth the few bucks it costs me to make it a "dot com." www.northhollywoodarts.com I'm also starting a small magazine for the left-of-center views of NoHo called NoHo UnCommons. There's already a Yahoo group and web domain for it. Look for it at Iliad Books (now on Caheunga at the bike path) and at a seedy street corner near you in a couple months. Cheers, Paul PS. Hi Paul, Thanks for your post. Would you be able to let the forum know a little bit more about the responsibilities of each committee and the duties/committment for member of a committee? I think this would help people decide if it is something they are able to do. Thanks again for your support and dedication to NoHo. I can't wait to read your latest issue! Lisa Bianconi Editor |
