At last sun and sea without rain and gales. The worry for some was lack of wind but the wind picked up from a 2 to a 3 south westerly. Beach launching was very straight forward and everyone was looking forward to a pleasant sail along the coast.
The dingys were split between single and double handers, with the larger dingies sailing to Birling Gap and the single handers to Cuckmere.
Southwesterly breeze saw most of the double handers seting there kites practically from the start. Steve and Penny (FB) leading all the way to Birling Gap where they were overtaken by Mat and Rupert (FB). Jack and James starting slowly but soon overtaking the Vago with the spinnaker able to sail closer to the cliffs and a more direct route than the Asymetric Boats.
Results Prov: Mat & Rupert (FB), Steve & Penny (FB), Chris & Ross (L2), Terry (Dart), Tom & Mike (Buzz), Jack & James (L2), Kevin & Darren (Vago), Sprint (Sorry forgot names).
Single Hander
6 Lasers and Radials took part. Alex & Ed leading pack from the start with changes of lead at first mark and from Cuckmere to Seaford leg with Ed slightly ahead at the finish, giving Alex clear lead on handicap.
