Wind northery variable 3-4
Flat sea ,and sheltered near beach meant easy launching,10 boats in total.Reaching start with little bias allowed wide spread of boats trying for either clear air or stronger wind further out.Jessica(*R) and Andy(*) took the stronger wind option and reached the GYBE mark just behind Rupert and Chris(FB).Having the lead proved a disadvatage , all the lead boats got caught out by the windshift allowing Tom and Catherine(Buzz)to reach the windward mark 1st.Julian(*) and Tony(*)also took advantage and Jessica and Andy found themselves near the back of the fleet playing catch up. Julian continued to keep out of trouble but the shifty conditions kept everyone working hard.Mark and Jessica gradually reeling everyone in overtaking all but the Fireball and Cat.The Buzz was unable to maintain its earlier performance , still experimenting with various kite positions including under the boat. The lasers and byte had one of the closest battles yet, with the main gains to be made on the beat and run, Jessica demonstrating the advantage of sailing by the lea.
Lawrence was race officer and made things extra interesting by moving the marks around to provide a beat.
