Re: stevie crawford

Not a good siging IMO.

Scored 6 times in 50 games for Dunfermline (in the First). 35 years old on his birthday. Don't see why he deserves the massive pay cheque he'll get and the place of one of our hungrier, younger forwards in McManus, Linn and Tiff (even O'Reilly).

Got 'freed' for not pulling his weight at the Pars.

Not excited by it at all. Colin Cameron would've been a different matter.

Aw well, he's signed now. Hope he proves me wrong and still has the touch.

I think we've got far too many players as it is.

Steve Crawford is not washed up,if you go on dafc.net you will see some very unhappy pars fans that he's been booted out like this. It's a disgrace. However in my opinion it is a wonderful signing for East Fife

Re: stevie crawford

Another player who has left a full-time contract to play for East Fife...what will Stevie do with his days?

If Willie Gray has already got Goran Stanic working the crusher in the yard, does that mean Stevie Crawford will be working on the reception desk?

"Aye, £5 for that Renault Clio wing-mirror."

I visit dafc.net regularly yes some fans are not happy.I am happy,as I said IMO hes washed up.Its all about money as far as Craw is concerned otherwise he would have taken up any offer if indeed there was one from an SPL side or first division side.Total lack of ambition. The scum from along the road nearly went bust a while ago due to high wages etc I fear East Fife wont be so lucky, they will go eventually.Wages and player numbers are not sustainable at Methil
conciliator

Jul 22nd, 2008 - 3:25 PM
Re: stevie crawford

We have been assured that the club will not go into debt. So from that I assume that the wages etc are covered. The one's that hold the purse strings should know. It would be a disaster and obviously stupid to go down that road as has been highlighted in recent years. So we should trust the club and what they say about financial acumen.

Then again going down the conspiracy theory road it may be the plan to bankrupt the club while shouting that every thing is hunky dory!

Nice to see you have the welfare of East Fife at heart.I wonder how Dunfermline will do with yet another season in the first, with an SPL standard stadium which is owned by someone else and which you haven't paid rent on for a good few years?

You just enjoy your wee jaunt in the second division playing against the likes of the Rovers,Brechin,Stirling etc in front of one man and his dog while we play the bigger sides in front of bigger crowds. You wont have a club the way things are going never mind owning your own stadium.See ya,bigger fish to fry

Oh Dunfermline Athletic are SUCH a big club Parsy (what kind of arsehole name is that anyway?). We're so jealous of all it's many achievements. How many trophies you won? Come back when you've doubled your tally and then we can talk about big fish. Dick.
okay whats the score?

Re: stevie crawford

From the official web site (uploaded late this afternoon) - doesnt state that he has signed yet!!

It is hoped that Stevie Crawford will soon be an East Fife player - the club is in signing negotiations with him at present.

Had a feeling thats who the new striker would be when hearing about it in ireland.
Anyone know what length of contract he will be on?

Seeing that the pars fans are unhappy that he got released, this has to be a big coup for us.
Quite happy with the signing and heres hoping he will score for fun in this league
