FIRST TIME EXPERIENCES / ADVICE TO NEWBIES
Here's where y'all are welcome to leave accounts of those memorable First Times... be it with Salvia, Shrooms, Peruvian Torch... whatever. Your advice to those who are still Entheogenic Virgins to these sorts of things can be a valuable resource, so please share what you know.
Here's a little tidbit to get things started: The FIRST TIME I ever got
was on... blush... model airplane glue. Yep, good old fashioned brain cell killin' GLUE.
My buddy came over to spend the night... we were in the basement... and he says "Hey! Let's sniff some glue... it's really cool!" Well, OK, I had some -- so we got some baggies, squirted some in, and I began huffing.
I recall taking a couple deep breaths of it, and starting to feel ahhhhhh... sorta tingly... oddly expansive... and the very NEXT THING I remember was waking up in the morning -- with a FAT LIP. "What happened last night?", I asked my friend.
He said after I'd taken a few hits I put the baggie down, looked around and around like a
and began wildly yelling "I'm HIGH!! I'm HIGH!! -- so he slugged me in the mouth to keep from alerting my parents... whereupon I fell back (semi-conscious, I'd imagine) and didn't move until waking up that morning.
My advice? DON'T do inhalants. My very next 'drug' experience was a hit of Owsley "Orange Sunshine" LSD... but that's a story for another time.

MAKE A BUCKET BONG -- EASY INSTRUCTIONS
All you need is a 2 litre bottle, 0.5/1 litre bottle, some aluminium foil a pointy implement, some water, resin (of course) and a lighter, (and some scissors or a knife).
First take the 2 litre bottle and cut it in half, keeping the bottom part. Take the smaller bottle and cut that off just below the bottle, keep the upper part of this bottle. Wrap some aluminium foil over the neck off the small bottle and pierce it until you have a netted effect. Fill the large bottle with water mineral or tap water will do. Then put the smaller bottle down into it as far as it will go, making sure that the neck of the small bottle isn't in the water. Put your resin (or whatever) onto the netted foil and use your lighter to burn while drawing the smaller bottle slowly out of the water. When the small bottle is filled with smoke and is as far up as it can go without taking the bottom end out of the water remove the foil and any resin left and put your mouth over the neck then lower the bottle back into the water forcing the smoke into your mouth. Besure to exhale FIRST before you do this, and be prepared to be QUICLY BLASTED OFF , especially with extracts.
Is particularly effective with Salvia -- make sure you have a sitter nearby to toss everything in a sink after you're done hitting on it!

Re: FIRST TIME EXPERIENCES / ADVICE TO NEWBIES
my first ayahuasca experience was a big contrast to my first salvia experience. with salvia, i did it outside, with a bowlfull of 5x on a bright and warm spring afternoon, or early summer maybe. if you dig back through the jsots pages (for a while) then you'll find me trying to poetically explain it. anyway, i lit into the salvia, and the first thing i noticed was the saliva! i felt an overwhelming urge to spit, like my mouth was all tingly everywhere, like needles were growing out of it. i sat on a bench by the delaware river and the last thing i remember before my melt was the freeze frame. like a digital still, i saw the gravel covered shore, the water, the clouds, the grass around me in my field of vision. the trees were formost, though. one of my favorite childhood books was "the spooky old tree" with the berenstein bears...and i was about to meet it. all of a sudden, i heard the laughter of disney characters who seemed a little too on edge for my taste. i noticed that normal everyday characteristics i'd bet my life on moments before this experience had now become something more than i could process at the time. the trees sprouted heads, something peeked from behind the clouds and the landmass on the other side of the river began to reach outward. like if we could see the rays of the sun, if only the sun was brown and green. the faces grew more definition, and they laughed at me, mocking me. they told me i couldn't hide from myself, because we are always around you. i've since deciphered that, convincing myself that each personality is an instance of our human life, in effect we share these shells with other spirits throughout our waking life. anyway, when i came back, i shuddered, dropped the bowl, picked it back up, and stumbled off muttering "leave me alone" and other unintelligible things. people looked at me funny, probably thought i'd smoked bad weed or something. if anything, it was the best "weed" of my life because it wasn't a weed at all. it was diviner's sage, the sacred salvia divinorum. it may sound corny, but it'll help you answer questions you never knew existed and it'll tear you apart. most important though, it will change your life, and if your life didn't need changing, you wouldn't be here. so how was it different from ayahuasca? well, they're like 2 sides of the same coin. at low doses salvia extract can be incredibly potent and scary. with more experience you'll find it cross-spiritual communication wonderful. however, ayahuasca gets scarier the more you ingest, and it doesn't wear off as quickly as salvia. it's definitely something to fight through at higher doses, but a low dose is heavenly. from these two entheogenic substances, i learned that the ancients understood that there are multiple ways into heaven and hell, even if there's just one of each, and the door you choose plays heavily into determining your fate.
