Although I've been (mostly) AWOL from posting, I have continued to check in from time to time. I always am amazed & touched by the warm support & generosity crew members extend to one another, in good times & in bad. Just reading the posts never fails to buoy my spirits, & I'm thrilled that much of The Bride will continue to sail on in another venue.
But to mark the end of this particular & rare era, I'd like to propose a toast, one I posted here in the early days. It is from Colonial American times, circa the early 1700s, & seems most attuned to the sensibilities of our illustrious Captain Jack Sparrow, & reflective of the brave, wild, beautiful hearts of his loyal crew:
Here's to the four hinges of friendship --
Swearing, lying, stealing & drinking.
When you swear, swear to your country;
When you lie, lie for love;
When you steal, steal from bad company;
And when you drink, DRINK WITH ME!
