Where do I find the French DNA results?
Recently had my DNA (Ancestry) results which link me to French family in Ireland. I knew nothing of the family as my late father was illegitimate and brought up by his grandfather on his mothers side, all he ever said was his birth family was named French, who appears to behis birth father died in 1943 in New Zealand does not appear to have had any other children. I have been able to research back into the family which appears to have been in Ireland since Sir Peter french 1576–1631

Making him my 8th great-grandfather
It all is very grand and very interesting but I'm more interested in living descendants of my late fathers.
I'm rather lost at interpreting my DNA results and really don't know what I should be doing to link with with other relatives. I have linked on Ancestry with a 4th cousin but that is the closest Ancestry show.
