Anyone out there currently wokring as a medical administrative assistant?

It seems that due to the economic downturn, jobs are very slim. Is there anyone recently hired in this job area? Is there anything you reccommend to stand out from the comepetition?

Almost every pratice I know of has phased out MAAs you might want to go on and get your MA
