Lovely Browny in my house! And my poor Violet needs help!

Well do I have an experience to tell all! I've recently moved into a small guest house on my grandparent-in-laws' property, and they truthfully believe in faeries!
When I first moved in, I had begun smoking. Suddenly, things began to break, fall, and general bad luck seemed to be coming my way. I finally figured out the fae were rather upset that I smoked (though they don't seem to mind someone smoking a pipe.) When I quit, my luck changed. Now though, I'm hearing little footsteps and the occasional dish moving in the kitchen. My husband even said a plate moved from the sink onto the counter! Turns out, it's a little Brownie, and she says I can call her Gretchen. Usually there's a meaning behind the names we are given to call them. Anyone know the meaning of that name?

Also, my poor African Violet seems to be depressed. If you could all send some healing thoughts to it, I would appreciate it. I got another violet to keep it company, but I just don't know... Any advice?

I love the little house helpers! Seems like they're good at more than straitening up. As for the african violet, maybe you should ask your brownie if she knows any elemental faeries who can do a healing dance around it;)
