Re: i am absolutely certain about it - columbo goes to college
That episode is one of my guilty pleasures. The actual murder is ridiculous but the clues were excellent: Mr. Roe in the restaurant, airfare to Phoenix, etc. I also loved the impression of Columbo and Robert Culp was so condescendingly nasty that he was great. And I couldn't agree more that Dad should have seen Columbo outsmart his son and be proven right all along. But c'est la vie.

I wish the same thing. It is one of those things that are left to our imagination, unfortunately so in this case. I would have wanted the father to see the arrest and apologize to Columbo. When the son says "My father does not to see me fair" (or something like that) I would have loved the father to come on the scene and say something or at least glare at his son.
