I was watching "Murder By The Book" this evening, and it just occurred to me that Milner was still busy filming Adam-12 at the time. The reason it seemed strange to me is that the length of his hair as Jim Ferris was as long as it was in "The Swiss Family Robinson" -- a short-lived series released in 1975. Far longer than it was as officer Pete Malloy in a preceding series that ran from 1968 through 1975. Weird, unless they shot a bunch of Adam-12 episodes in advance enough for him to grow it out and work on other projects.

It wouldn't surprise me if Milner did this during the summer hiatus from "Adam-12" when he presumably would have grown his hair out before filming would resume.
