Re: I like a nice bowl of chile

"Heinrich? You got a guy named Heinrich to make chili?" from Rest in Peace Mrs Columbo :-)

Re: I like a nice bowl of chile

"You like the chili?"

"Yes - it's quite good."

"It's from a special recipe - made from squirrel meat."

!!

Re: I like a nice bowl of chile

Ha! Those are great!

Re: I like a nice bowl of chile

They're all good.

"Let me know if you see anything movin' around in that chili, Lieutenant. It's from Wednesday."
(Columbo) "That's the way I like it!"

**

(crumbling Saltines into his chili) "It's the crackers that make the dish."

**

Burt: "You know what's your trouble? You don't have much imagination....You always look at the menu, and you always order chili."

Columbo: " I'll have the chili."

Burt: "See what I mean?"

Columbo: "Well, look at it this way, you'll never be disappointed."

**

"How do you want your chili, Lieutenant -- with or without beans?"

(Columbo) "Last night I had it with beans? Have it
without beans... Variety!!!"

**

But the squirrel-meat moment, already mentioned, is probably my favorite.

Re: I like a nice bowl of chile

Yeah, that's a great scene.

I like the way the waiter looks perplexed when he orders chili in the fancy restaurant. Yet, he comes back in about a minute with the bowl. Maybe the chef cracked open a can of hormel, lol.

Also, is that the only time Columbo asked for ketchup with his chili?

Re: I like a nice bowl of chile

Just saw that episode last night on MeTV...and they cut the chili part from the restaurant scene!

Columbo even refers to it in the next scene, but anyone who didn't know the scene would be left scratching their heads.

Pretty disappointing I must say.
