Hey Columbo fans! I am 28 years old and have watched Columbo devotedly since I was a child. I have gradually built up my cherished collection of Columbo tapes over many years and I am now missing only 2 of the original episodes. Despite having watched them all many times I have never lost the joy they give me, but I have always believed myself to be alone in my apreciation of the show. I know it has been shown many times over many years but I had always thought that most other people watching it were casual viewers rather than devoted fans like me. I only recently got a computer and discovered this wonderful website. I was delighted to discover that there are so many other people like me out there who love Columbo. You have probably heard this type of message many times before, but I felt I wanted to say it anyway.
Right now as I'm typing on this computer, I'm watching the Columbo episode, "How To Dial A Murder". I'm wearing pyjamas, which I suppose makes me a "casual" viewer. However, I'm also wearing my raincoat over the pyjamas, which I suppose makes me a "devoted" viewer. I guess I'm just casually devoted!
Fred, I'm afraid all the tapes I have are just ones which I have gradually collected by recording any episodes shown on TV. I do have all the original episodes except for 'A Deadly State Of Mind' and 'Ransom For A Dead Man' (which I desperately want to get!) and many of the '80s/'90s episodes. A tape to tape recording of them would probably be fairly poor, but certainly better than nothing. If you wanted I could probably manage something. Otherwise, if you live in the UK then you should be able to find the first three seasons on DVD. I'm not sure what is available in the US.
