Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Forfar game in serious doubt.

Looks likely that this Saturday`s game will be off according to Forfar fan on P&B.
It seems that there was a possibility of reversing this weekends fixture and us then playing Forfar at Station Park in March, but this is now a non starter.

Weather conditions in Forfar will have to improve drasticaly for the match to go ahead.

Re: Forfar game in serious doubt.

Why would it be off????
7 deg temp and raining

Now, away and get your homework done Son.

Re: Forfar game in serious doubt.

The local paper up there ran the story today. Story written yesterday when the thaw hadn't started. Thaw underway - game should be ok.

Re: Forfar game in serious doubt.

Frost and ice still affecting Station Park.

Discussions instigated by East Fife had taken place at the beginning of the week with Station Park still badly affected by frost and ice about the possibility of reversing this weekend’s fixture and playing it at New Bayview, with the March fixture between the clubs taking place at Station Park.

However this idea has now been ditched and we can now only hope for a miraculous change in conditions over the next 72 hours to allow what would be our first game in eight weeks to get the ‘green light.’

Re: Forfar game in serious doubt.

8 degrees C predicted for 15.00hrs, Sat.

Another example of a half story. Why was the idea of a switch ditched?

Re: Forfar game in serious doubt.

Dunno mate ! just copied this from the official Forfar website

Re: Forfar game in serious doubt.

I was speaking to a Forfar player, (on monday I hasten to add) who said that the snow was never cleared from the Station park pitch at any time during the recent bad weather. The pitch now has patches of thick ice all over the place so even with the current thaw the game will still be in doubt!

Watch out KK..Hooperprat will be telling you to stop posting p!sh.

Re: Forfar game in serious doubt.

Always thought it could be in doubt as the ice is well packed and they have problems with the pitch on the far side of the pitch away from the main stand getting the sun to thaw it out if i remember correctly.

KK, that proves nothing - that could be any random picture of Station Park on a Summer's afternoon.

Re: Forfar game in serious doubt.

8 degrees today and 4 tonight and its supposed to be 9 degrees tomorrow. There is still a chance the game could go on.
