Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

I wonder if we even tried to get him on loan

As soon as i heard the move i wondered the same thing. He would have been the difference between a play off challenge and a relegation scrap.

Re: Latest score

This defence must get sorted asap. Livi should have scored more than 4 and we had about 3 shots on goal.
Gave them far too much space and was one way traffic for most of the game.
An experienced centre half is a must, as is a decent left back.
Very poor today!

I don't think so. I have no doubt that he would have been an outstanding addition to the squad but I think in recent results, it's clear that it's our defence we need to work on. 10 goals in 2 games is just not good enough.

Fair point, i was maybe getting a bit carried away.

Re: Latest score

I agree, so why have we signed Weir & Hamilton ? A commanding organiser of a Centre Half and a left back should be priorities. So many goals are coming from the left back area. Stewart Greacen has been released by Morton and would be a great experienced addition to the squad. Robbo has to get the defence sorted or we'll be facing a delegation fight again.

Re: Latest score

Robbo got this one horribly wrong in my opinion. Both full backs were clearly told to tuck inside which left far too much room for Livvy's wingers. One thing Deuchar has always done well throughout his career is being feckin good in the air so you MUST cut out the supply but instead we almost put our hands out and said 'on you go!'
We looked sluggish and it's a definite pity we had our first league game in a long time against an excellent Livingston side as in fairness if we'd lost 7-2 we couldn't have complained.
Zero mobility up front will cost us this season and as for 'James' Hamilton well it could be 'Hissy 2' although we'll give him a fair shot.
Last but not least - Bobby Linn, dear dear with their 3rd goal, a complete shocker.

Re: Latest score

livi's attitude and work rate were outstanding but i thought at 2-2 and Livi down to 10 men that we wouldn't lose!
Robbo put in Weir & Hammy at 2-2 which looked like excellent substitutions at that time.
King Kenny made the difference.
They looked much quicker and fitter. Their game at Peterheed and our postponement at Forfar might have made the difference as well though.

This winter has made the games a lottery.
