Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Bobby Linn

Ooops Dont want to upset you guys but its been leaked that Bobby Linn is to sign with Dundee FC at the end of the season.

Re: Bobby Linn

Heard rumours about that last night, but lets be honest there is no way Bobby will be staying once the season ends unfortunately.

Re: Bobby Linn

Not unless they come out of admin and transfer embargo is lifted. No one is going to go to Dundee til then, and no one knows if they will be in the clear by start of next season. Plus after they punted him previously he knows how high risk a place Dens is. Hate to say it but Rovers or Pars more likely destinations.

Re: Bobby Linn

Youll see?? plus Bobby doesnt drive so he wont be going too far away from home.

Re: Bobby Linn

Was this some sort of attempt at a shocking revelation? I don't think anyone expects Linn to be at Bayview next season.

Re: Bobby Linn

No nae secret that he`s away at the end o the season.Good luck to him when he goes.

Re: Bobby Linn

Long-term employment prospects at Dens Park are not good Bobby and they are not the sort of club where you want to forge a full-time career at. I mean they are almost as badly run as East Fife. Almost...

Re: Bobby Linn

Even if it's just a verbal promise, he'll go. He's a Dundonian, his mates are Dundee fans, he'll have something to prove with them. Totally fair enough. That aside, who would stay with a team like us - on the way down it seems, losing players, bringing in lesser players, manager away in a matter of weeks, money worries, tiny crowds (compared to Dundee), back to the Brown days but with a more approachable 'Brown' put there by the same person who put Derrick in charge.

Re: Bobby Linn

Is robbo definetly leaving at the end of season

YOU TALK SOME PSSSSSSSHHHHHH YA BALDY BASS

Re: Bobby Linn

Anyone else feel that when bobby goes we'll see lloydy and jay follow him out the door? for me, all three have been superb and it'll be a sad day in east fife history when they leave.

Re: Bobby Linn

Footballers whether full time or part time will move for better money or better prospects. Offered these any EF player will leave,if not they will stay. What football needs is more players like Fernando "when the going gets tough" Torres. It must have broken his heart to leave Liverpool.

Re: Bobby Linn

SPF why do you bother supporting east fife as no matter what the thread you are so bloody negative it's unbelievable.I hope someone has taken your shoe laces from you otherwise i'd worry about you hanging yourself
On the subject of Linn then it's simple economics with all players they'll go to whoever provides them with the best deal when there contracts end just the same as we'll get players from clubs at the end of the season as well. This practice is nothing new i would think

Did you have to do that? I wont be able to make the meeting tonight due to going back in to my period of mourning. Damn you Duthers, damn you!!

Re: Bobby Linn

bobby has another kid on the way so i don't blame him for looking to leave the club. at the end of the day we look 3rd division bound which will surely mean a wage cut for most of the squad and he needs to provide for his family, if that means going full time then bobby will probably go to dundee as said before he doesn't drive and it would be the best option considering he already lives in dundee.

any fife fan who begrudges bobby a move away is a disgrace, he has done more than enough for the club for the last few years and it's about time we repaid him with whatever he wants and if it's that he wants to leave then all the best to him!

Re: Bobby Linn

No-one's begrudging Bobby anything, just pointing out that he can't sign for a club in administration with a transfer embargo!

If he does indeed leave at the end of the season then good luck to him, but his focus should solely be on East Fife until then - after all he owes us for helping rebuild his reputation after an unsuccessful spell in the 1st with Morton.

Re: Bobby Linn

I`ll be delighted for Bobby when he goes full-time,he`s too good to be playing for a club like East Fife!
