Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Re: Methil Power Station site news

Serious question, does anybody in the area really give two hoots about the work going on at the Energy Park that we hear so much about?

Not having a go at SPF here for starting the thread but just want to ask in general.

It seems a good opportunity for local politicians to get their mugs in the paper but that's about it

Re: Methil Power Station site news

If it means jobs for the area, then yes, I find it very interesting!!

Re: Methil Power Station site news

I give two hoots about because if it happens any new jobs are welcome.
It wont change the world but there must be benefits for local people, local community and local businesses.

Re: Methil Power Station site news

I give .. two hoots to who ... asks me if I care!

Re: Methil Power Station site news

Aye but what new jobs?
That Hydrogen Office employs about 10 people.

Re: Methil Power Station site news

Does anybody know someone from this area that works up there cause i dont.

Re: Methil Power Station site news

I only posted it as it's the big cuboid-shaped concrete mass we have to look at every week from our seats - and saw this article in the Courier.. No sinister undertones or motives for the post.......this time.

Re: Methil Power Station site news

I work in the Hydrogen Building and all I can say is that I hope the new building will be wind and watertight and more energy efficient than the Hydrogen one is.
