Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Fickle supporters

Well I waited a few days to see if it would happen - but of course it did not - after the slagging the team got from many posts after the Dumbarton game - and those predicting 3rd Div football for next season - none of them came on to post and congratulate the players on the result they got at Ayr - we all want the team to win every game - but the reality is - it just will not happen - but if you make a post rubbishing the team after a bad result - surely the decent thing to do is congratulate them when the get a good result - but its typical and easy in this day and age to denigrate and criticise - but few have the courage to praise especially with egg on there face

Re: Fickle supporters

Hear Hear Mike.
The cynical ones seem only to post to complain.
They only see one team and if we lose, it's alway the players or the manager that gets roasted, never "we got beat by a better team on the day"

Re: Fickle supporters

That as they say "is football for ya"
Potential play off candidates one week, potential relegation fodder the next. Gubbed by Dumbarton at home one week, gubbing Ayr away the next. No wonder people are confused.
A bit of consistency would help.

Re: Fickle supporters

absolutely!

Re: Fickle supporters

The win against Ayr was fantastic, but it was only one win. What we need now is for the team to build on that and start climbing this league.
Then, just maybe we might start seeing some positive posts!

Re: Fickle supporters

Wednesday was the first decent team he's put on the park all season.

why don't you wait until the end of the season & double it if they avoid relegation(which they will) but still. £150 for 1 win, seems a tad steep.

Re: Fickle supporters

I slipped up today with my betting I got 40/1 for 4-0 with bet365,must have stung them a wee bit,
Ladbrokes 66/1 for 4-0
Coral 60/1 for 4-0
Hills 50/1
but they are not giving 2-0 h/t 4-0 f/t
I got 85/1 for that

Re: Fickle supporters

If ever proof were needed! Fickle as F*ck!
Beat Ayr and hardly a comment!
Lose today - which was a travesty - should've won by a few, Q the negative brigade on more than a few threads! and the team is crap!

F'in unbelievable!

I am really happy that after Tuesday we have a run AWAY from home. The negative pish coming from the stand today was unbelievable at times.

Our finishing (and set piece delivery) was poor but our overall play was pretty good IMHO.
We took the game to them for over 60 mins.
We will win more than we lose b4 the end.
