Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

Argument for increasing League sizes?

After the disgraceful scenes during and after the OF game last night, surely this is a great opportunity for those who are against the new smaller league set ups, to argue for larger leagues that would see fewer of those games?

It is getting worse between these two teams the more often they play against each other and I would say it also increases the hate factor between rival teams and supporters in the lower leagues too, because they are playing each other far too many times in a season. You just need to look at the aggro we had playing Arbroath a couple of seasons ago.

The argument for smaller leagues by the likes of Neil Doncaster is based purely on money. I think they need to be questioned on their attitude to safety in and out of football grounds and why they think the hate culture is getting more prevalent!

Re: Argument for increasing League sizes?

Wouldn't a simpler answer just be to invite the OF to join a North Atlantic League along with Iceland, Greenland, The Faroes and possibly the Isle of May?

That way the civilised part of the Scottish population wouldn't have to put up with their nonsense

Dream on.Would certainly be beneficial to Scottish Fitbaw if the OF went elsewhere and took their gloryhunting fans with them.Won`t happen in my lifetime tho.
