Away From The Numbers

All good things come to an end. Or so they say. AFTN has been around since 1989, first as a fanzine and then making the jump to a website and forum in 2003. We've been through the many ups and down at East Fife in those 12 years but policing the forum has become a giant pain in the ass in recent years. As such, we made the decision not to renew it when it expired.

The forum is no more and will remain as a locked archive until it is eventually deleted by the host. We're looking in to try to save some of the content as an archive.

This is not the end of AFTN though. The site will continue and will be revamped and return in its full glory for the start of the 2016/17 season. Maybe even sooner. There will be a comment sections and possibly even a new, registered forum. Check our Twitter (@aftnwebsite) for all the latest info and we'll also post in on the EFFC memories Facebook page.

Until then, have a last browse here, thanks for all your support over the years, and 'Mon the Fife.

East Fife - Berwick Rangers

New game this saturday and time to move away from last week.
I hope we get a better performance on the park in comparrison to last saturday.

I'll be there, everyone else going.
I hope we have a big home turnout and a vocal home support as all eyes will be on us.

Re: East Fife - Berwick Rangers

How much anti English bile are you muppets going to spew out then. A bloody disgrace to Scottish football.

would certainly spare the poor sods who go from watching the pish on show.

Re: East Fife - Berwick Rangers

Can't quite see where the anti English bile fits in that post. Sorry but maybe I missed something. I'm not getting any younger you see. I take it you are a Blue Brazil fan from Lowgelly. That is the correct pronunciation I think.

I'm proud to say I played football for East Fife, Dumbarton, and in England with Berwick Rangers. I was born in The Royal Burgh of Inverkeithing and my dad was born in the High Street in Lowgelly.

My son Paul played with the Blue Brazil when Danny Lennon was the coach and then the manager. It was the best football he has ever played, and Danny took him and Darren McGregor with him to St Mirren. Unfortunately injuries were to curtail his career there, and when he moved to East Fife things on that front didn't improve. He's been playing Junior football these last few seasons, but again injuries seem to follow him around. He's decided to have some time out for now in the hope that his fitness will improve. He's still only 28and has a lot to offer should he get back to full fitness. I would love to see him back wearing the Black and Gold for the Fife.

Please don't slag off my old team. They are very close to my heart.

Re: East Fife - Berwick Rangers

You mean to say you haven't had the police escort out of Berwick after the game, used to happen all the time in the 1970's and there was a definate English/Scottish partizan feeling when you were there. Have to admit it's more or less gone, but you used to have a good time venting your feelings towards them. Ypu must remember in those days we used to take over Wembely ever second year as well.

Re: East Fife - Berwick Rangers

Are we human or are we cowden

Re: East Fife - Berwick Rangers

4 -0 to The Fife

Re: East Fife - Berwick Rangers

5-0

Re: East Fife - Berwick Rangers

East Fife 5 Berwick Rangers 0

I would struggle to say that I have never seen a worse team visit Bayview for a long time. It was the most one sided game I have been at. 5 goals but I am not being outrageous in saying that it could have been 15 or more?????????

Great to get off the mark and I hope we can get a run going. Looking promising after last week.

Re: East Fife - Berwick Rangers

That was f*cking brilliant, best ive seen east Fife play in my time at bayview(3years). We closed down so well, sometimes even 3 on 1. Fash ripped the Berwick defence apart and Wilson had to come off because fash was bullying him! Finn Graham who I thought looked good for us in pre season was no where to be seen the whole game and I'm sure he was playing in a number 10 role when Henderson and lavery were up front. 4231 formation worked brilliant with wilkie behind fash and Smith out on the left. Thought young 18 year old Jason Kerr was excellent today, don't think Henderson won a header. Kyle Wilkie was my man of the match, 2 great goald and I'm sure one assist? Wee man ran the show and will be a big loss to Berwick. Roll in Saturday against Elgin. Mon the fife

Re: East Fife - Berwick Rangers

Brilliant performance, but atmosphere after last week was crap.
5-0 and there wasn't even one "East Fife cha cha cha" chant.
Okay cut out the offensive stuff but don't stop singing altogether for god sake. A game like that there should have been plenty singing but there nothing.

Re: East Fife - Berwick Rangers

Few matches a season man.. but on that basis... wow...this was a performance of the highest order. Closing down all.over the pitch was excellent...possibly evidence of fitness.
To address the issue of Berwick being a poor side..I really dont think they were as they tried to play football througout the whole match. A GOODISH SIDE AT this level, I just believe were made to look a league and a half below us. Couldn' pick out a star performance.
To end on another positive, from their attitude, the players had really bought into whatever the manager was trying to do

Re: East Fife - Berwick Rangers

A very accomplished performance this afternoon. Great credit to the management team and the players on the park. I was particularly impressed by the way we mixed things up, prepared to be patient at times with the build up then going direct to the guys up top. Kyle Wilkie really ran the show for us once again with his workrate and ability to up the tempo when required.
I've got to say that I've been disappointed with some of the comments on this forum after the Shire game on the back of three very encouraging performances against Raith, Falkirk and Dumbarton. Perhaps some contributors might learn to look at the bigger picture.

Re: East Fife - Berwick Rangers

Typical East Fife,I have not been able to see them for about a year but was there last week and they were shit, this week I am working and they turn it on....is it me or what

Re: East Fife - Berwick Rangers

Stay away mate!!!

Re: East Fife - Berwick Rangers

Any highlights?

Re: East Fife - Berwick Rangers

Kyle Wilkie's goal was a particular highlight for me!

Re: East Fife - Berwick Rangers

Highlights now on EFTV

Re: East Fife - Berwick Rangers

Before anyone else comments I want to apologise for the premature celebration that lead to the 1970s Scotsport style camera work for the first goal last week! Despite Alan's best efforts to enhance it in the replay it is still pretty shoddy work!
Must do better will be going on the report card this week!
Hopefully better on Saturday

Shows how little faith you have in Fash - he shoots for goal and you immediately pan the camera to 15 yards wide.

I live a long way away – accept whatever I can get – it’s great!

I also agree some people are never satisfied, being an ex pat I am grateful, what we get
regarding the videos of an East Fife game, especially when it is free.
