Reflecting on nice memories of growing up in Welch in the 40s and 50s, does anyone remember any of these:
1. Welch having 3 movies, Temple, Pocahontas and the Nola (which had a glassed in section for crying babies).
2. The old bus station which was two doors up from the Temple theatre.
3. The opening of the Linkous Park swimming pool (about 1947).
4. The Welch Miners baseball team
5. The "old gym" at WHS.
6. WHS football games at Blakely Field
7. The first game at the "new field" (We beat Oceana)
8. The legitimate basketball All=American who coached at WHS (Scotty Hamilton)
9. The distinctive voices of Johnny Villani and George Branch on local radio stations.
10. The wonderful and dedicated school teachers at the Welch schools.
``. Vets returning home from WW 2.
