Passing of CDR Robert Slack

With heavy heart I report the loss of our friend, mentor, counselor, CDR Robert "Bob" Slack, USN - Ret. Bob was the COSL EMO '80 - '83, and OIC SURTASS Support Center '86 - '87. There will be a memorial service this morning at Thalia Lynn Baptist Church, Virgina Beach Blvd. Bob was far more that a friend, he was a brother, and he left us far too soon.

Re: Passing of CDR Robert Slack

While I didn't serve with him, I did, as I always do when I learn another of our fold has passed, observed a moment of silence in his memory.

Re: Passing of CDR Robert Slack

I remember Cdr. Slack, from my time at COSL, and I'm saddened to hear this. My condolences to his family and all his friends.

Following seas, Commander.

Re: Passing of CDR Robert Slack

I remember CDR. Slack from my working at COSL in 1980.
My sincere condolences to all of his loved ones.

Re: Passing of CDR Robert Slack

I wanted to update the members of the board that CDR Slack's ashes will be interred at Arlington National Cemetary, April 1, 2013, at 1500.

Knowing Bob as well as I did, he would think it funny it is April Fool's Day.

He was my shipmate, mentor, and good friend.
