Project Overview: Provide foreign submarine operations and ASW tactical
support analysis for the ONI Submarine Warfare Operations Division
(SWORD).
Job Responsibilities: Examine foreign submarine operations and ASW
tactics data for a variety of mission areas in order to eliminate a back
log of unanalyzed data sets. This effort will support data
reconstruction and analyses to evaluate the technology, operational
characteristics and operating profiles of foreign naval platforms and
interaction of those platforms within certain geographical and
environmental constraints. Analysts will publish reports that provide
conclusions regarding the objectives, the effectiveness, and
vulnerabilities of foreign undersea platforms as well as evaluate their
threat to U.S. national interests in general. Work on this task will
include developing skills using Single-sided Reconstruction Tool (SSRT),
ArchView GIS, and MS Office Suite applications to develop and interpret
foreign naval vessel tracks. Analysts will review results from tools,
evaluate intelligence received from multiple sources of intelligence,
and conduct in-depth assessments of foreign submarine and ASW
operations.
Environment: Office of Naval Intelligence, National Maritime
Intelligence Center.
Required Skills:
Extensive knowledge in U.S. Submarine operations
Personnel shall experience as a Submarine Officer having a US Navy
Officer designator of 1120; or
Personnel shall have experience as a Surface Warfare Officer qualified
as a Surface Warfare ASW Evaluator (ASWE) qualified on towed array
carrying ships; or
Submarine Sonar Technician E-7 and above; or
Submarine Fire Control Technician E-7 and above; and
Extensive knowledge of Target Motion Analysis as acquired by serving in
one of the positions listed above
2 years experience of MS Office Suite applications, particularly Excel,
PowerPoint, and Word.
2 Years experience of the operation of U.S. submarine combat systems
1Year experience of operations conducted by foreign submarines
2 years experience of the principles of underwater sound
2 Years experience of U.S. Anti-submarine Warfare tactics and
techniques.
Education & Years of Experience: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and
7-9 years of related experience.
Work Location: Suitland, MD
Clearance: US Citizenship required and an active TS/SCI clearance
