Arg memory

I just came back from a stitchers gathering in Nashua, NH. While in the stitchers lounge, a woman named Bobbie V. told me this story.

This is for all the Arg people back in '77-ish. It involves a very pg dependent woman & her trip to the hospital. It seems the driver corpsman had not been on the island for very long & got the job of driving the ambulance to the hospital in town. Well it was at night, from what I understood, & they got lost. Ended up at a gas station in town trying to get directions. The corpsman in the back was no help as he only rode in the back with the patients! A Mounty was called & escorted the ambulance to the hospital just in the nick of time.

Does it ring a bell with any one? Just wondering. . .

Re: Arg memory

Sounds like an Urban legend to me..THe main hospital was in St Johns, and there was only one road there the TCH.....Can't imagine a duty driver not knowing the way inthe ambulance...Makes a good story though...

Re: Arg memory

He must have gone the back way. That road was a blast in my Maveric Grabber.

Re: Arg memory

Hey Greg, like she said, she had only been on island for a few weeks & it was her first time driving the ambulance. I could see it happening especially at night . . . .

That is why I put it out there. To see if any one from the Fac knew anything about it. Tks for replying. It just may be a personalize memory. . . . . .
