Mount St Helens hasn't done anything nasty since 2004; however, down deep it's still cooking and has the potential to erupt at an uncertain date in the future.

I was driving to Seattle,on my way to Adak, the day of the eruption. All traffic was diverted off I-5 and witnessed an amazing example of nature's power. In the late nineties we climbed Mount St Helens from the south side and had an unbelievable view. If you are ever in the area the visitor center is well worth your time.

Give Mt. Fuji a try. No real mountain climbing expertise needed, but great experience and view at sunrise of Tokoyo.

They are worried about the Yellowstone volcano AND the New Madrid Fault line. Both are getting a lot of attention right now.
