Re: On Eternal Patrol - USS Scorpion (SSN-589)

In one of those strange quirks of whatever you want to call it - and as
I posted some time ago - I was the WO at Eleuthera when we detected
SCORPION during her first - very brief - excursion into deep water in
the Narra Bay area. The bathymetry was such that only Eleuthera made
contact.

At the very sad other end of her timeline - and because of Dan McMillin -
I had the opportunity to work on her loss.

Forty-nine years - a very long time. Let's hope the Navy gets the story
straight for the 50th.
