The NAVADMIN link announces the new CWO Acoustic Technician designator, primarily for IUSS personnel. It appears that due to the world's current situation, there is a need for IUSS expertise. I have asked before..... when does NAVFAC Kef reopen?
Randy, Thanks for the news on the new designator; it is needed. But I'm afraid the reopening of NAVFAC Keflavik is wishful thinking. Look for an article in this year's edition of "The Cable" newsletter titled "Former Navy Base at Keflavik" by Friðþór Eydal. Friðþór is a friend who was the Icelandic Public Affairs Officer during the years I was stationed there. He currently works at the airport.
