The USS "Lead Mines," SSBN 726

The USS OHIO (SSBN 726) had a nickname: "Lead Mines" because, when delivered to the Navy, the submarine had 2500 long tons of lead as ballast to enable it to submerged with the ballast tanks fully flooded. That's 5.6 million pounds of lead.
