My thanks to Jack and Russ for, respetively, suggesting and implementing the archiving of my
latest – and last - assessment of why the USS SCORPION was lost 50 years ago.
What this assessment hammers home is the Court of Inquiry mistakes and why they were made.
It was my expectation that the USN would – upon the passage of 50 years since the tragedy –
acknowledge these errors and openly discuss the indisputable fact that a battery explosion sank
SCORPION.
That appears to be a vain hope. To date, nothing useful has been forthcoming about SCORPION.
The posting - see link - will stand for future researchers to grapple with. It has gone to six foreign
countries and more than 50 individuals in the US, all of whom has been encouraged to further
disseminate it.
