Nick,
Safety, Safety, Safety! OSHA would not want someone to not be able to see you in bright sunlight and accidentally step in front of you and get "mowed" down. Think headlights on cars required to be on during daylight hours.
Equally baffling was why a lawn tractor drink holder would accommodate a beer bottle but not a standard sized glass of vodka and tonic. I got pretty good at steering with one hand and holding my glass with the other...unless traffic was heavy. :)
I know it has been forever but being in the country since discharge,,,, I can relate to the cup holder issue! It's great to see your name posting on The Cable! If their was one person I could imagine riding a mower with a glass in hand,,,it would be you! How the hell are you Sir?
Reminds me of Keflavik, Iceland where we had to have our American Headlights jury-rigged to come on "whenever" the ignition was started before being issued Icelandic plates and registration. Something about those long winter nights. Did you by chance purchase an Icelandic HUSQVARNA TS354X riding lawn mower, Nick? :flag-is: :smirk: Expensive - $3,399.95 a piece.
I've mowed in the winter/Summer, Sunshine/rain, in shorts/bundled up, hungry/stuffed, sober/drunk (wouldn't have known if the lights were on or not) but never mowed at night.
