Just read on the Facebook NAVFAC Barbados board that Capt Peebles passed away on or about July 7th. I can't verify the information but it was posted by a frequent NAVFAC Barbados poster. Capt Peebles was one of the really good ones and if the information is correct I'm very sorry to hear it. He became CO at Barbados near the of my tour in '69 and relieved LCDR Ben Hacker.
