Re: Wife Scheduled for Open Heart Surgery June 27th

John,
We are all with you and Dorothy at this very difficult time. Looking forward to good news and a fast recovery. Ed Smock

Re: Wife Scheduled for Open Heart Surgery June 27th

Wife's surgery started at 8 am this morning after 90 minute pre-op. The doctor orginally stated it would take 4-5 hours. the surgery when so well that it was completed 3 hours at 11 am. Surgery when extremely well, Dr repaired Mitral Valve and another valve that had a small leak so he repaired it, Also did a procedure to fix AFIB. She is in the Heart Center ICU for the next 24 - 48 hours, then to a regular room for 3 - 5 days.

Thank You for your thoughts and prayers.

That is great news, John. Please pass to Dorothy that her SOSUS family is thinking of her and sending tons of positive vibes.

Nick,

Thanks,

Another suggestion: make sure all is OK with her lungs.

Hospitals tend to dismiss lung issues which can linger on for weeks/months after
they shove a breathing tube down your throat when you get a general.

I needed six months of physical therapy to fix my problem and my voice has never recovered.

Be a hard-ass if there is a breathing issue. If there is a problem, expect the doctors to tell you
all will be fine in a few days.

That's probably BS.
