Loss of Another Shipmate

Received an email from Dawn, Gary Morgan's daughter, that Gary passed away on 9 July of this year. Gary, Jack Holdzkom, and I were stationed together at Arg in the late 60s and Gary and I were again stationed together on Midway. He was my sponsor for CPO initiation. There was no better couple than Gary and Judy Morgan. You could always count on them to be where they could help the most. Gary was Research CPO and I was Analysis CPO when Midway won Most Improved NavFac in 1976. What a great Chief and LDO LT. He loved WWII fighter aircraft, and would email me his latest video every few weeks. The world was a better place with Gary around, and he will indeed be missed. He and Judy are together again... forever.

Our deepest sympathies and condolences to Dawn an the Morgan family.

I was also stationed with Gary in Arg. Even after nearly 50 years his gentle and humble persona is very clear in my mind. Above all else Gary was a good man and so worthy of emulation. This is a guy who earned his passage to better things and I salute him for that. Well done Gary, may we meet again.

Re: Loss of Another Shipmate

So sad to hear of the passing of another fine OT and man. My deepest sympathy and prayers to Gary's family. Rest in peace shipmate. May we all meet again at the final reunion someday.

Re: Loss of Another Shipmate

I worked with Gary in the training department at Centerville in 1973. Herb Fabricus was the LCPO and Gary was LPO, I had just made PO3. He taught me a lot he was truly an outstanding OT and person.

I was stationed with Gary (as an LT) in Hatteras in'82. A great OT and leader. Learned a lot from him in the short 6mos we were there together. A very knowledgeable, down-to-earth and level-headed person; usually. Everyone will miss him a lot. Sincere sympathies to his family.
