NAVFAC Brawdy

Hello,
I’m looking to get in touch with anyone who was stationed at NAVFAC Brawdy in the late 1970s.
I’m a researcher from the UK and have been looking into the series of unexplained UFO-related events that happened in Pembrokeshire, Wales during the late 1970s.

Through the course of my research I found a letter sent to the Fortean Times magazine from James Carlson. Mr. Carlson was stationed at the NAVFAC in the 1980s but wrote that his superior had told him that at least some of these unexplained incidents were down to members of the NAVFAC dressed in their firefighting gear being mistaken by the locals for ‘spacemen’.

I was just wondering if anyone on here was able to provide any further information on this? Or indeed experienced being mistaken for a ‘spaceman’?

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,
Adrian

PS – My grandfather, Martin ‘Hank’ Hancock, worked at RAF Brawdy for many years, and even ventured into the NAVFAC (with escorts!) on one occasion. Does anyone on here remember him?

Re: NAVFAC Brawdy

Adrian, You may want to join the US NAVFAC Brawdy Facebook page. Those stories have been discussed there several times. Just a thought.

Re: NAVFAC Brawdy

Hi Jim,

Thanks for the tip. I did consider trying to join the Navfac Brawdy facebook group, but, I thought, as my link to the Navfac is pretty tenuous I didn’t have much chance of my request to join being accepted. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, I suppose, so I’ll give it a go.

Thanks again,

Adrian
