I’m on Nantucket now at my vacation home and caught this article on Navfac when it first started in one of their tourist magazines. I was stationed here as an Ensign / LTJG from 73-76. I’m sure you might get permission to re-publish if you found it interesting to your readers. I was out taking pics at the base and the only bldgs left are the front gate shack and a few quonset huts. The erosion is so bad the land where the T Bldg stood has fallen into the ocean. They still do have the Kennedy bunker. It’s an underground bunker he would be rushed to from Hyannisport in the event of nuclear attack. I’ve attached E copy of magazine. Article starts on page 110. Hope you enjoy.
