While at COSL, I saved the Navy about $17K by saving a bunch of currently in use stuff that the Avionics guys from the Ranger sent to salvage by mistake. Would have been $51K but I got there too late. Civilian employees with implements of destruction got there first. All the saved parts went to the PMEL shop, COSL got a few of the intact items calibrated and assigned to us as back up test equipment while our official items went in for official scheduled calibration.
