Loss of a Shipmate

Just heard that Carol Zeeck, wife of Doc Zeeck, passed away from a stroke on Friday. Joan and I want to pass our deepest condolences to Doc. The family posted on FB that they are asking that Doc be allowed a bit of time to grieve this sudden loss. What a shock and sad news for all who knew her!

This is a hard post to write. For those of you who were unaware Carol recently suffered from a stroke. She passed on quietly with her family friday afternoon.
I will ask that you refrain from calling Merrill. At this time we are not planning a memorial or anything, if you want to send cards do so to Box 305, Lake Preston, SD 57249. Dad is not great with the computer so i will try and check messages for him on here.

Oh my God! This is terrible news. I am deeply saddened to hear this, Carol worked for me in Argentia in the early 70's and she quickly became very good friends to my wife and I. She was a tremendous individual with many talents and wonderful sense of humor. Every year we received her annual newsletter at Christmas and I so looked forward to keeping up with the events in her life. She will be dearly missed. Please extend our deepest condolences and prayers to her family. RIP Grif you will be missed.

"I guess it is about time i got on this machine and started learning to use it. It is time to get a few words out. I t has been a rough few weeks. She was in the hospital for two weeks and never gained consciousness. Her disabilities would have been massive. We chose to not go that route. All four of the kids near and got say their good byes. We are planning to have a visitation/memorial in the Legion hall on the 16th of Oct from 5 to 7 PM, we are requiring that people wear masks. Food will not be served due to the covid thing and very little seating will be available. I encourage anyone to call if they want to talk to me. My numbers are 605-860-8888 and 605-847-4370. Thanks to everyone who has sent messages in her memory. Merrill "doc" zeeck"

Re: Loss of a Shipmate

Doc, Chris and I extend our most sincere condolences to you and your family.
None of us are privy to God's plan but I'm sure He wanted her for a reason.
We wish you the strength to get through this very difficult time.
