Group Celebrations of Christmas Could Be Fatal

As reported by the press:

"Alabama and much of the country is seeing a surge in COVID-19 cases following
Thanksgiving gatherings. The state in the last two weeks has set records for the
number of cases reported each day and the number of people in state hospitals
with COVID-19."

Re: Group Celebrations of Christmas Could Be Fatal

I don't wish to make light of the Covid crisis here in the US. But I would like to point out that, at least in Florida, you can't get the Covid test without having symptoms. Hence, this is part of the reason the numbers are swinging way up. It only follows that there will be a higher percentage of positive tests.

That said, yes, the virus will spread because of family gatherings. But we must also realize that we rarely get numbers of negative results from the testers. And there have been reports (that I can't vouch for) that speculate that there are a lot of false positive test results because of the inaccuracy of the particular test being used. Newer tests that actually look at the RNA that are affected will be more accurate.

Stay safe and avoid crowds.
